To promote cashless transactions, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has introduced Card Swipe Machines at Computerised Reservation Office of Bhubaneswar Railway Station to help people transact digitally.

Binayak Prasad Swain, Chief Commercial Manager (CCM) and RS Mitra, Financial Adviser and Chief Accounts Officer (FA&CAO) of the East Coast Railway inaugurated the point of sale (POS) machine in the presence of Debaraj Panda, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM)/Khurda Road.

The move has enabled people to pay for tickets by swiping their credit or debit cards as they have been doing for purchases at shopping malls or merchant stores. Over the next few days, the reservation counters at all major railway stations will be equipped with POS or card swipe machines.
