Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik assured to help in every way for opening of a branch of National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) in Odisha.
Naveen Patnaik made the offer during his conversation on a courtesy call with Dr Satish Chandra, Director of NIMHANS, to setup an infra at Odisha, The CM assured to help in every possible way for NIMHANS at Odisha.
Dr Chandra also assured the Chief Minister that he would make all efforts for opening of a branch of NIMHANS, an institute of national importance, in the state.
In view of a large number of patients from the state turning up for treatment at NIMHANS daily, Chief Minister Patnaik also urged Dr Chandra for opening of a helpdesk there (Bengaluru) for the benefit of patients from Odisha. Dr Chandra said he will take immediate steps in that direction.
It was decided during the course of the talks that the state government will work in coordination with NIMHANS to provide assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to the large number of poor patients from the state visiting the premier mental health institution for treatment.
