Jauna Murmu Odisha girl wins women’s 400 metres


Jauna Murmu Odisha girl wins bronze medal in the women’s 400 metres event of the 20th Federation Cup National Senior Athletic Championships at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, Friday.

She finished third with a timing of 53.37 seconds behind her teammate Puvamma (52.60) who bagged the silver. Kerlian Anilda Thomas secured the gold medal with a timing of 52.40 seconds.

Jauna Murmu is an Indian sprint runner and hurdler from Odisha who specializes in 400 metres and 400 metres hurdles. She belongs to Mayurbhanj District of Odisha. She has received coaching from Arun Kumar Das and Subash Chandra Dasmohapatra.

She has multiple International and national achievements.

Finished 4th in 400m hurdles in 2010 Asian Games held in Guangzhou, China.
