A boy from Jharsuguda district, Snehal Raj, has secured an all-India rank of 168 in JEE Advanced 2017, the results of which were published on Sunday.
“It was my dream to get into an IIT. I would put in six to seven hours a day. During the time, I would remain very focused,” said the 17-year-old who wants to pursue computer science and open his own startup in future.
The youngster cleared Class XI from Belpahar English Medium School in 2015, scoring 94% in the science stream. Following this, he joined a coaching centre in Kota.
“We are very happy with the achievement of our son. We never imagined that he would bag a rank but his hard work has paid off,” said Raj’s father Rajesh Kumar, an employee of the Mahanadi Coalfields Limited at IB Valley, Brajrajnagar. His mother Neeta is a former lecturer at Sambalpur University, Burla.
