The police move followed after the 5 servitors against whom the police had registered complaints for creating nuisance during Niladri Bije ritual, failed to appear before deadline set for September 12.
The servitors whose properties are being confiscated are Damodar Mahasuar, Jayakrushna Mahasuar, Saina Khuntia, Bhimshen Palankdhari and Ipsit Pratihari.
According to additional SP Jagannath Pradhan, a letter from SP has been sent to the PKDA, sub-collector, Tehsildar and Bank to furnish details of the movable and immovable properties in the names of the concerned 5 servitors.
some sevayats had an altercation with Puri Collector Arvind Agarwal during the Niladri Bije rituals when he confronted them after the servitors and their kin alighted from the Taladhwaja chariot, in clear violation of High Court and Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) orders.
The incident had led to the delay in the conduct of rituals and pahandi of Lord Sudarshan.
