Odia Film “Capital I” to be screened at Paris Film festival


Odia film Capital I, the first independent feature film from Odisha will be screened at South Asian Film Festival at paris.The movie is co-produced by Susant Mishra and Swastil Choudhury. The director of the film is Amartya Bhattacharya. Capital I is his debut feature film and he is extremely excited about the call from Paris. The script is bold and the film includes an outspoken portrayal of a lesbian relationship.

Mishra has also played a leading role in the feature film, working in front of the camera for the first time and shot  with a DSLR camera and a tripod and on a timid budget; the film deals with subtle emotions and detailed portrayal of the human mind in a surreal way.

In 2014, Capital I was screened at the 13th Chalachitra Utsav in Dhaka, Bangladesh and at West Florida Film Festival. Software engineer by profession, Bhattacharyya had made a few short films earlier such asNiloye Jokhon and Boba Mukhosh that had won appreciation.
