Odisha police to use social media to immediately respond

Odisha police have decided to use the social media to immediately respond to the distressed victims.

After receiving a flood of posts on Chief Minister’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, Director General of Police (DGP) of the state, KB Singh today directed all Superintendents of Police, Range IGs and DIGs to open Twitter and Facebook accounts for their respective range and districts to address the issues.

All the Twitter handles and Facebook accounts of all the police districts and range offices would be linked with the Twitter and Facebook account of the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) and the DGP office.

“The district superintendents of police have been directed to regularly follow up the Twitter and Facebook accounts of the Chief Minister and State Police Headquarters and retweet it for further action taken on the complaints lodged in the official page,” said Singh.
