Chandaka wildlife sanctuary 193 sq.km sanctuary has 26 places, which are known for their scenic beauty, sighting of animals and birds and natural water bodies.
The move is aimed at attracting more tourists to the sanctuary providing open-top jeep by the sanctuary authorities.
Now tourists use their own vehicles which are covered. The open-top jeep will facilitate better view of the forest and wildlife,” said divisional forest officer (Chandaka) Kedar Kumar Swain.
“We may rope in some private party to run these open jeeps. The eco-guides will accompany the tourists in every vehicle and tell them about the flora, fauna and routes,” said Kedar Kumar Swain.
The Chandaka authorities will tie up with the Nandankanan zoo and Athgarh division so that tourists get one entry pass and one-time payment of tariff to visit the three places.
