Rajanikant Nayak, a tribal student of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), has cracked the highly competitive IIT-JEE (Advanced), result of which was declared recently.
He passed his matriculation from Sarat Government High School, Mayurbhanj with 89%. He scored 80% mark in +2 Science which was the highest among KISS students. The boy secured an overall rank of 245 in the JEE – Advance entrance.
He will take admission in one of the IITs. However, he wants to go for IIT Khadagpur.
Rajanikant, who belongs to Gond Tribe, hails from a small village, Denua of Raruan Block of Mayurbhanj District of Odisha.
He lost his father during early childhood and his mother, a daily wage labourer, is the only earning member of the family. He has a sister who is physically handicapped. But, these obstacles did not deter Rajanikant for achieving his goal.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS said that his dream has been fulfilled with the success of Rajanikant. “We were making continuous effort for last three years for success of KISS students in IIT-JEE test. Rajanikant’s success will pave way for many students of the institute to join IITs in coming years”, Dr. Samanta hoped. Congratulating his mother for giving birth to such an able son, he wished him all success in life.
