Naveen Patnaik directed his officials to provide electricity connection to un-electrified and partially electrified villages of the state by June 2018.
He directed this while reviewing the rural electrification programme at the state secretariat here.
As many as 46, 927 villages have been electrified out of a total of 47,677 villages of the state. The rest 750 villages will be connected with electricity by end of December this year. Companies like NTPC, PGCIL, OPTCL and OREDA are engaged in the electrification programme, said a release issued by the chief minister’s office.
7,856 villages have been electrified out of the 28,165 partially electrified villages. The rest 20,309 villages will be fully electrified by June next year.
