Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday launched a helpline for women in distress on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
The toll-free helpline service ‘181’ will be available 24×7 in all districts of the state.
Addressing a function on International Women’s Day, Naveen Patnaik said while women of Odisha have contributed significantly and carved a niche for themselves in an array of sectors, there is a lot to be done for their holistic empowerment. The essential scale to judge the progress of a society is the development of its women.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister felicitated women achievers in the field of academics and sports.
