Odisha slum boy Chandan Nayak selected to train at Germany Football Club

Odisha boy Chandan Nayak, an 11-year old football player of the Sabara Sahi slum in Bhubaneswar, has been selected to train at Bayern Munich, the iconic football club in Germany, as an academy player.

Chandan is studying class 6th at Capital High School, Bhubaneswar. He has selected in Bajaj Allianz tournament at Pune, out of 120 players 5 players selected, all of then chandan was the youngest player.

Chandan is great fan of Lionel Messi, Chandan loves the No 10 Argentinian jersey made famous by the Barcelona superstar. Chandan aims to bring accolades for Odisha.

Chandan’s coach Jayadev Mohapatra is on Cloud Nine after this stupendous achievement by his ward. “It is a matter of pride that Chandan has been selected to play for Bayern Munich.

All fellow players, masters and seniors have celebrated the achievement of the boy wonder while Chandan’s mother Duhita Nayak, who raised him by working as a maid servant.

  1. He is a Player of our Academy, Kalinga Football Academy. The boy has been groomed by us for last four years.
