Scientist Kota Harinarayan to enter into politics to serve poor of Odisha


Scientist Dr Kota Harinarayan has expressed his willingness to enter into politics to serve poor people of the State.

Kota Harinarayan, the designer of the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), is from Berhampur, Odisha. The aircraft is equipped to handle air-to-air missiles, air-to-surface missiles and anti-ship missiles.

Harinarayan did his schooling from City High School, Berhampur, and intermediate in science from Khallikote College here before joining the Banaras Hindu University. He joined as vice-chancellor, University of Hyderabad, in 2002 after his retirenment from ADA.

“I am inspired by former President Bharat Ratna APJ Abdul Kalam. He had advised me to enter politics and work for development of rural areas. I am waiting for a right opportunity,” said Dr Harinarayanan.
